Online, 1 year-long class covering the entire High School Chemistry curriculum

Prerequisite: Algebra I

For Whom: Open to 9th through 12th-grade students who have not taken any high school chemistry class yet and would like to complete a chemistry course as part of their high school education. This class gives students a rock-solid chemistry basis so that they can further take an Honors Chemistry class or to prepare for the AP Chemistry Exam. This class gets students prepared for fast-paced College Chemistry courses thus being a must for those who are interested in further studying life sciences, engineering, or health sciences at college or university.

Topics covered: Chemistry and the Scientific Method; Chemistry and Measurements (units, significant figures, scientific notation, conversions); Classification of matter; Atoms and elements; Atomic structure; Chemical bonding; Molecular structure and geometry; Lewis structures; Chemical quantities & The mole concept; Gases and the gas laws; Solutions; Acids and bases; Chemical reactions; Redox reactions; Reaction rates and chemical equilibrium; Thermodynamics concepts; Energy in chemical reactions-Thermochemistry.

Class delivery: The 2 classes/week are delivered LIVE over Zoom and new topics are added throughout the year. In these classes, I explain everything about a specific topic from beginning to end including solving different types of exercises and problems students can encounter for that specific topic.
